The southern region of Ethiopia suffered a 'wet famine' where the rain came very late causing crops to fail, resulting in severe starvation for the people in the region.

Ghana's rice farmers face an uncertain future, as they struggle to compete in a market flooded with heavily subsidised imported rice, resulting in high unemployment amongst labourers.

Sri Lankan Post-Tsunami

Work is continuing to rebuild the areas of Sri Lanka devesstated by the Tsunami. Whilst building can be rebuilt, many people's emotional scars have proved more difficult to repair.
